The Transformations of the Concept of the Self within Islamic Philosophy and Contemporary Technology

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the transformations that have affected the concept of the self within two distinct contexts: the context of Islamic philosophy on the one hand, and the context of contemporary technology on the other. In the digital age, the human self has come to face profound existential and epistemological challenges as a result of the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence technologies and modern communication media, which have contributed to reshaping the relationship between the human being and the world, as well as between the human being and the self.
